Turkiye will build an energy base at a depth of 2,200 meters for gas production in the Black Sea, Report informs referring to the Turkish media.

Thus, Ankara is investing almost $10 billion in a gas production and transportation project. It is assumed that the gas pipeline, which will stretch from the Sakarya field to the Port of Filyos, will allow the extraction and transportation of 540 billion cubic meters of gas, Sabah reports. According to plans, the first deliveries should be made next year.

A total of 4,200 people work day and night in the gigantic project, Milliyet reports. It is noted that wellhead fittings will be placed in ten wells of the energy base under construction, and the weight of one of the valves is about 65 tons. The control unit, which will be placed on the seabed, weighs 260 tons. The fuel will be supplied to this power base and then pumped ashore through the gas pipeline. As many as 30 vessels will work simultaneously on laying pipes, the newspaper specifies.

It is expected that in the first quarter of 2023, daily gas production will be 10 million cubic meters.
