Azerbaijan and Russia’s Astrakhan region will develop joint projects in shipbuilding, Report informs, citing the regional government’s press service.
The implementation of joint projects was announced at a working meeting between the governor of the region Igor Babushkin and the Azerbaijani delegation in Astrakhan.
“We have high hopes for the Peter the Great cruise ship in terms of tourism. We hope that the vessel will be fully operational by summer and will be the flagship of the cruise. Colleagues from the Caspian littoral countries are interested in organizing cruise lines across the Caspian Sea. We want this direction to become a full-fledged project,” Babushkin said.
Thus, the parties have now entered an active phase of negotiations on bilateral cooperation.
