Baku Port sends proposal to EU to support projects

“We plan to work closely with international organizations in the long-term strategy ‘Baku Port 2035 – CO2 zero emission’ framework. Thus, a proposal was sent to the European Union (EU) to support a number of projects,” said Aynur Samadova, a department head at the Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC, Report informs.

According to her, the government has appealed to the EU to support the construction of a green training center, as well as a climate strategy: “The aim of the long-term strategy ‘Baku Port 2035 – CO2 zero emission’ is to support the creation of a Smart Port. The new strategy will play a vital role in the direction of the Green Port. Also, within the framework of the existing concept of environmental development in the port, it aims to strengthen air quality control and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to ‘0’ by 2035.”
