Provision of reliable protection of sea borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan, strengthening of control on regime rules in the Caspian Sea, fight agains smuggling, and conduction of rescue operations are continued, State Border Service (SBS) told APA.
One suspicious package, fastened to the sea guide sign was found out during observation of the territory by the border guard ship conducting protection of the sea borders in the Lankaran raid in the south direction of the Caspian Sea within the framework of service-combat activity of Coast Guard units of the State Border Service on August 4. Opium-like narcotic drugs of 21 kg 255 gr in 20 small pieces were detected and taken during review of the package, operational investigation measures were started regarding the fact.
