Position title: Commissioning Umbilicals/Controls Engineer
Roles and Responsibilities
- A key member of the Subsea Commissioning Team during project concept development and execute phases
- Shall have detailed product knowledge gained in the manufacture of subsea control umbilicals comprising of hydraulic thermoplastic Kevlar braided hose, super duplex tubing, electrical and fibre optic cabling
- Accountable for all precommissioning and commissioning activities related to project subsea production control umbilicals, hydraulic flying leads, electrical flying leads, fibre optic cables, DEH cables, multibore well jumpers and associated subsea control, MEG, methanol and chemical injection systems
- Interfacing with the Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS) for the purpose of executing subsea controls, cause and effects and shutdown testing
- Ensures correct technical integrity is achieved and maintained for all subsea control systems prior to handover to Operations
- Co-ordinate and manage Contractor to achieve safe, efficient and seamless Start-up of subsea systems
- Develop detailed commissioning scopes of work for inclusion in PSCM Contractor Request for Pricing (RFP) packages
- Have an in-depth understanding of the construction of subsea field development architecture and deep-water subsea connection systems and competent in the development of detailed subsea commissioning vessel support scopes of work and associated bridging procedures
- Provide technical support and monitoring where necessary during manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, testing and installation of subsea controls equipment and instrumentation to ensure delivery is in-line with Commissioning goals and objectives
- Participate in engineering and process safety reviews including Peer Reviews, Integrity Risk Reviews, HAZIDs and HAZOPs
Qualifications:
- Degree level
Essential Experience and Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years of umbilical system pre-commissioning/commissioning experience in offshore oil and/or gas developments
