Minister: New international transit routes to be opened, will expand opportunities

More than 4,700 km of roads with a total length of more than 19,000 km are of republic importance in Azerbaijan, said Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev during the meeting of local companies attending international transportation through automobile transport, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, after the restoration of liberated lands from the occupation, 2 km more will be added to these roads. 

“Liberated lands and new international transit routes to be opened through Nakhchivan will further expand the opportunities for the participants in the transport and logistics sector,” said the minister.

R. Nabiyev has also talked about the important measures to make national carriers more competitive not only in the local market but also in the region. The minister has called on the local companies to be a part of a global network and to increase efforts to integrate with it. It is noted that the local companies providing innovative, safe, and reliable services may strengthen their positions in the regional market within the framework of international cooperation.
