Job Title: Naval Architect

Work Location: Base Office (30 km away from the city centre)

Position Schedule: 1 year (renewable)

Education: Master’s degree in Naval, Mechanical, Structural Engineering

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of international experience as Naval Architect within oil and gas Offshore Engineering and Construction industry

Skills:

  • Knowledge of main international Discipline standards, codes and regulations. Capability to analyze dedicated Project requirements in terms of local standards and codes and to identify proper implementation actions;
  • Proven technical knowledge of naval structural engineering;
  • Technical knowledge of Naval engineering main competences i.e. Vessel Hydrostatic and Stability, Hydrodynamic, Mooring for temporary and permanent installations, Dynamic Positioning system, Engineering analysis for Offshore installation;
  •  Knowledge of the more common numerical techniques implemented for Naval analyses such as Panel model based numerical, strip theory including. The knowledge regarding the method to model the vessel geometry, weight distribution, mooring system, Dynamic positioning System is requested;
  • General knowledge of Oil and Gas engineering for design of subsea components and offshore structures. Knowledge of main standards related to offshore structures i.e. ships, offshore pipelines, subsea structures etc.;

Languages: Azerbaijani (fluent); English (fluent)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the specialistic knowledge of main Naval Engineer competences such as vessel Hydrostatic, Stability, Hydrodynamic, Dynamic Positioning System, Mooring, Engineering analysis for offshore installation;
  • Apply and improve technical skills, expertise, knowledge, procedures and tools as required for proposals and project execution;
  • Support naval engineering activities;
  • Improve quality and efficiency in the naval engineering activity;
  • Execute the activities within own area of responsibility, ensuring the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements;
  • Apply the Naval Engineering acquired competence for the Naval Architect technical activities;
  • Prepare naval deliverables (procedures, notes, technical reports);
  • Develop design capability (stability, hydrostatic hydrodynamics, hull, mooring, installation engineering, DP);
  • Prepare technical documents relevant for requisitions, bid analysis and PO;
  • Prepare feedback dossiers from projects;
  • Support the Naval Architect Lead to develop the excellence in naval engineering;
  • Acquire the capability and the skill requested to successfully apply the state of art of numerical tool requested for the naval department engineering activities;
  • Assist the Naval Architect Lead to implement the process of Lesson Learning;
  • Improve technical competence growth of department resources regarding Hydrostatic, Stability, Hydrodynamic, Mooring analysis, Dynamic Positioning System.
