NYK has taken over the Sakura Leader, an exclusively LNG-powered vehicle. The vessel was built at the Japanese shipyard Shin Kurushima Toyohashi Shipbuilding.
It is the first Japanese-built large-capacity car carrier to run exclusively on LNG.
The length of the vessel is 199.9 m, width – 38 m, cargo capacity – 7 thousand units, gross tonnage – 73.5 thousand tons. The vessel will fly the Japanese flag.
