PMO News Portal – In this meeting, in which the two sides emphasized the executive steps for the development of maritime trade, Khosrow Sarai noted: By changing the pattern of trade in the Caspian Sea and accelerating the transportation of container and refrigerated goods, we intend to participate in the development of cooperation by providing the necessary infrastructure.

The Director General of Transit, Logistics and Agreements of the Ports and maritime Organization stated that with the signing of the Commercial Shipping Agreement in 2015, the two countries of Iran and Kazakhstan have established a very good bilateral cooperation in the field of maritime transport and transit process between the two countries has grown significantly. the development of port and maritime infrastructure, this cooperation will be able to further improve.

At the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Transport Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure of the Republic of Kazakhstan also stressed that trade between Iran and Kazakhstan should not be affected by the conditions caused by the spread of Covid 19 virus. The ports of Aktau and Kurik support any infrastructure investment projects in the field of container and Ro-Ro shipping line.

At the meeting, the two sides agreed on “launching a Ro-Ro Shipping line between the ports of Aktau and Kurik with the northern ports of Iran” and forming a joint working group within a month to prepare proposals for launching of the said line.

At the end of the meeting, the Director General of Transit, Logistics and Agreements of the Ports and maritime Organization emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to develop relations in the field of maritime trade with Kazakhstan.
