In the second quarter of this year, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) made drilling operations with length of over 15 thousand meters.
Report informs citing the SOCAR, this is slightly less than the same period last year.
The reduction in drilling works is due to a decline in global oil demand as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and temporary restrictions on production under the OPEC + agreement.
Production was mainly limited to low-yielding onshore fields, and drilling was reduced accordingly.
