The volume of the goods transported by sea transport during January-May, 2020 in 2019 equaled to 2,531.9 thousand tons and decreased by 1.3% as compared with relevant period of the previous year, “APA-Economics” reports citing the State Statistics Committee.
The oil products accounted for 33% of all goods transported in the past period.
The sea ports implemented loading and unloading works in the volume of 3,768.9 thousand tons, and the transit cargo accounted for 3,578.9 thousand tons or 95% of all transported goods.
As of January 1, 2020, the volume of the goods left in ports equaled to 99.3 thousand tons, the report reads.
During the reporting period, the number of passengers transported by this type of transport decreased by 9.9% as compared with 2019 and equaled to 6.4 thousand people.
