In February 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from the US and Israel through the ports of Turkey amounted to 4.962 million tons, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
The volume of transshipment of goods from the US through the ports of Turkey amounted to 2.665 million tons during this period.
“In February 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from the US by ships flying the flag of this country amounted to 3,868 tons, and vessels flying the flags of other countries amounted to 2,566,800 tons,” the ministry said.
It was noted that the transshipment of goods from the US was not carried out by vessels flying the flag of Turkey during this period.
The ministry also said that the volume of cargo transshipment from Israel through the ports of Turkey amounted to 2.295 million tons in February 2019.
According to the information, the volume of cargo transshipment from Israel by ships flying the flag of Turkey for the specified period amounted to 302,141 tons.
“During this period, the volume of cargo transshipment from Israel by ships flying the flag of this country amounted to 15,551 tons, and vessels flying the flags of other countries to 1,977,990 tons,” the ministry said.
In February 2019, 3,514 ships arrived at Turkish ports.
Some 1,260 vessels sailing under the flag of Turkey and 2,254 vessels sailing under the flags of other countries arrived at Turkish ports in February 2019.
The gross registered tonnage of all vessels in February 2019 amounted to 58.483 million tons.
The gross registered tonnage of the vessels arriving at Turkish ports under the flag of Turkey amounted to 8.917 million tons, and the gross registered tonnage of the vessels under the flags of other countries was 49.566 million tons, the ministry stated.
During two months of 2019, 7,339 vessels arrived at the Turkish ports. The gross registered tonnage was 121.125 million tons.
