Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) hosted a commemorative event dedicated to November 8 – Victory Day.

Sea-news.az reports that the ceremony brought together leadership and personnel from ASCO, representatives of the State Maritime and Port Agency (DDLA), families of fallen martyrs, and veterans of the Patriotic War.

The event commenced with a minute of silence honoring the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, followed by the performance of the National Anthem.

Speakers noted that the historic victory achieved in the Patriotic War reflects the effective continuation of National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s statehood strategy under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, supported by the nation’s economic strength, military readiness, and unity. The proceedings also highlighted ongoing large-scale reconstruction efforts across Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur within the framework of the “Great Return” master plan.

Aladdin Mammadov, father of martyr Parviz Mammadov and employee at ASCO’s Zigh Ship Repair and Construction Yard, delivered remarks on the resolve of the state leadership and the bravery of the Armed Forces.

Zaur Huseynov, Hero of the Patriotic War and Deputy Head of ASCO’s Confidential Mode and Military Mobilization Department, shared operational recollections, emphasizing the solidarity and dedication shown by soldiers and officers during the campaign.

As part of the program, a short feature video was screened showcasing the wartime service of ASCO employee Altay Hasanli. Additionally, a documentary covering the commemorative expedition to “Heydar Peak” undertaken by ASCO veteran staff was presented.

The Victory Day commemoration concluded with the presentation of the film “Those Who Swapped the Sea for the Trenches” (Dənizi səngərə dəyişənlər), honoring Caspian mariners who answered the call of duty to join the liberation campaign.
