Sea-news.az reports this was disclosed in a security notification issued by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

In light of the incident, vessels transiting the region have been advised to proceed with extreme caution.

It should be noted that on Thursday, another commercial vessel was hit on its port side by an unidentified projectile approximately 40 nautical miles south of Iran’s Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf, sparking an onboard fire.

According to UKMTO data, more than 30 attacks against commercial vessels were recorded in the Strait of Hormuz during October alone—the highest monthly total documented since the onset of the US–Iran conflict.
