The United States military has destroyed a vessel in the Eastern Pacific Ocean allegedly used for drug trafficking. Five individuals were killed during the operation.
Sea-news.az reports that the action was confirmed by the United States Southern Command.
According to the command, intelligence data indicated that the vessel was directly involved in illicit drug smuggling operations.
It should be noted that since the autumn of 2025, the US military has targeted vessels across the Caribbean Sea and Eastern Pacific Ocean as part of counter-narcotics operations. According to US media reports, the mission—codenamed “Operation Southern Spear”—has failed to deliver expected outcomes.
