Sea-news.az reports Khudayar Hasanli, Advisor to the Director of Baku International Sea Trade Port LLC, announced the expansion plans at the German-Azerbaijani Strategic Partnership and Connectivity Conference in Baku.
The port handled over 77,000 TEU in 2024 and surpassed 107,000 TEU in 2025. By the end of 2026, container volume is projected to exceed 120,000 TEU.
Increasing current container handling capacity from 150,000 TEU to 260,000 TEU.
Elevating total port throughput capacity to 25 million tons and container capacity to 500,000 TEU.
Hasanli emphasized that transit time and cost remain the decisive factors for Middle Corridor logistics, requiring seamless infrastructure synchronization among all corridor participants.
