Mysterious Whale Deaths – VIDEO

Dozens of dead southern right whale calves have once again been discovered off the coast of Chubut Province in southern Argentina.

Sea-news.az reports that AFP released information regarding the incident.

It is reported that Mariano Coscarella, a researcher at the Marine Mammals Laboratory of the CONICET National Research Council, stated that the mortality rate among young whales during the current season is particularly high. According to him, this worrying trend has been ongoing since June.

It is noted that veterinarians suspect an outbreak of erysipelas, a serious disease caused by bacteria that typically reside on the skin of whales.

“It seems to be due to natural causes, but we cannot completely rule out the impact of human activity either,” M. Coscarella stated.

Chubut provincial officials announced that they are working in close cooperation with scientists to determine the precise causes behind the deaths of the animals.
