The agreement reached between the United States and Denmark concerning Greenland provides for joint coordination of economic projects carried out on the island and measures to prevent Chinese capital from participating in these projects.

Sea-news.az reports that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this in an interview with Fox News.

“This agreement includes an investment-screening procedure together with Denmark. The goal is to make sure that one day we don’t wake up and find Chinese military personnel there, or at least find that the ports are owned by Chinese companies,” Rubio said.

According to the Secretary of State, China is building ports in various parts of the world with the intention of eventually deploying its naval forces in those areas.
