Kazakhstan’s Naval Forces have commenced scheduled military exercises in the Caspian Sea.

Sea-news.az reports that the country’s Ministry of Defense released an official statement regarding the drills.

“Scheduled exercises of the Armed Forces Naval Forces have started in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea. Crews must traverse the entire expanse of the Kazakh sector, practice operations under various scenarios, and carry out practical live-fire exercises,” the department stated.

According to the reports, the exercises will consist of three distinct phases. Sailors will practice inter-ship coordination, navigation and communication, ship handling, and the deployment of weaponry, with special attention given to operations conducted far from the coast.

Captain 1st Class Arman Satkanov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Forces for Combat Readiness, noted that special emphasis during the exercises will be placed on further refining the practical skills of ship crews.

“During the deployment and cruise, crews will execute practical firing exercises utilizing ship weaponry and practice joint maneuvers. As the phases progress, the tasks will become increasingly complex, and additional units will join the exercises. These drills will serve to further enhance the combat readiness of the Naval Forces,” the official statement noted.
