Birthday of the conqueror of Shusha

82

Today marks the 54th anniversary of the birth of Colonel Tehran Javid oglu Mansimov, an officer of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, one of the former commanders of the Nakhchivan Separate Combined Arms Army, and a principal leader of the operation to liberate Shusha during the Patriotic War.

Sea-news.az reports that Tehran Mansimov was born on August 24, 1972, in the village of Duztahir, Qusar District, and dedicated his life to serving as a national military cadre in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

He went to the front as a volunteer during the First Karabakh War, later receiving military education and beginning his career as a commissioned officer with the rank of lieutenant. He held responsible positions ranging from platoon commander to brigade commander in the Karabakh zone. On September 27, 2020, he actively participated in the counter-offensive operations alongside the special forces of the Nakhchivan Separate Combined Arms Army. During the historic Shusha operation—which lasted from November 4 to 8 and entered world military history—he was among the first commanders to enter the city.

By decrees of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, he has been awarded the “Azerbaijan Flag” Order, the “For Bravery” and “For the Fatherland” medals, as well as the “For the Liberation of Shusha,” “For the Liberation of Fuzuli,” and “For the Liberation of Khojavend” medals.
