The United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) has conducted a special maritime operation in the eastern Pacific Ocean as part of counter-narcotics efforts, destroying a watercraft used for illicit trafficking through a precision strike.
Sea-news.az reports citing the TASS news agency, that SOUTHCOM released an official statement and footage of the operation via its official account on the social media platform X.
According to SOUTHCOM’s statement, intelligence assets fully confirmed that the targeted vessel was actively utilized in international drug trafficking networks. As a result of the targeted operation, two individuals described as “narco-terrorists” aboard the vessel were eliminated. The command also shared video footage capturing the moment of the strike, as well as the vessel catching fire and sinking.
