Over the weekend, only five vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz, which is six times lower than the previous figure.
Sea-news.az reports that this was stated by the Reuters agency, citing data from the Kpler service.
During the previous weekend, 31 ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz.
It was noted that shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has practically ground to a halt after the United Arab Emirates reported last week that Iran had attacked three tankers belonging to Abu Dhabi’s “Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.”
The actual number of ships passing through the strait may be slightly higher, as many turn off their tracking systems in the region. Before the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, between 130 and 140 ships would typically pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
