The Spanish Civil Guard and Maritime Rescue Service have rescued 57 migrants who arrived on the shores of the Balearic Islands in four boats: one of them was detected southeast of Cabrera, while the rest were found heading towards or on the coast of Formentera.

Sea-news.az reports that Spanish media published information about this.

Although one of the boats carrying 19 migrants sank 12 miles southeast of the island of Cabrera, it was possible to rescue them. The rescue operation involved the Civil Guard’s provincial maritime service, personnel from the command and post in Felanitx, as well as helicopters from the Civil Guard and the Maritime Rescue Service.

Including these four boats, 106 migrants arrived in the Balearic Islands in 7 boats the previous day.

According to the latest data from the Spanish Ministry of Interior, as well as information on detentions from the government’s delegation in the Balearic Islands, 4,145 illegal migrants have arrived in the archipelago in 219 boats since the beginning of the year.
