Global logistics hit

Following the attacks by the Houthis operating in Yemen on Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities on the Red Sea coast, the number of ships passing through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait has sharply decreased.

According to sea-news.az that figures from vessel monitoring company Kpler revealed that only 11 cargo ships passed through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait on Sunday. This was recorded as the lowest figure in recent months. At the same time, transit shipments through the Strait of Hormuz reportedly remained at a low level over the weekend.

This tension in the shipping route arose after the Houthi strikes on facilities of the Saudi Aramco company located in the cities of Yanbu and Jizan. The resulting situation has caused the prices of physical oil cargoes in the Middle East, European, and African markets to rise to their highest level in the last two months.
