A scientific research expedition is ongoing in the Caspian Sea with the aim of studying and accurately assessing fish stocks on a scientific basis.

According to sea-news.az that joint scientific research is being conducted within the framework of the expedition by staff from the Ministry’s Fisheries and Aquaculture Center and Turkish experts.

During the research, the size, mass, age, and other biological indicators of fish samples are being determined. In addition, biometric measurements of the species are being taken, and the biological status of the populations is being assessed. Laboratory analyses on the collected samples and obtained data are currently underway. The final results of the research will be announced once the studies are completed.

The main purpose of the expedition is to assess the current status of aquatic bioresources, enrich the scientific database on fish stocks, and obtain reliable scientific indicators for future monitoring efforts. The collected data will be of great importance for future scientific research and management decisions aimed at ensuring the protection, efficient management, and sustainable use of fish stocks.
