In the Gulf of Aden, unidentified armed individuals attempted to seize a tanker carrying petroleum products.
According to sea-news.az this was reported by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency.
According to the information, the incident occurred 50 nautical miles southeast of the Yemeni port city of Ash Shihr.
“The captain of the tanker carrying petroleum products reported the approach of a boat with five armed individuals on board. The perpetrators attempted to board the vessel. The crew executed evasive maneuvers and altered their course. Currently, the tanker is continuing its transit toward the destination port. Neither was the vessel damaged, nor were any crew members injured,” the center’s statement noted.
