The decaying bodies of 15 migrants have been discovered off the coast of the city of Tobruk, located in eastern Libya. It is reported that a teenage girl is among those who tragically lost their lives, and it is not ruled out that the number of bodies will increase.
According to sea-news.az based on information provided by 10 migrants who were successfully rescued during the incident, there were more than 60 people in total aboard the sinking boat.
In recent times, Libya has become one of the main transit routes for migrants coming from various African countries who are aspiring to reach Europe in search of a better life. Each year, thousands of people embark on this illegal and dangerous sea voyage, risking their lives while attempting to reach European shores via the Mediterranean Sea.
