A tanker carrying approximately 2 million barrels of Iraqi crude oil has departed from the Persian Gulf and is now en route to Europe.
According to sea-news.az Iraq energy expert Nabil al-Marsumi stated that this shipment represents one of the largest oil cargoes exported from the Gulf countries since March of this year.
The vessel, sailing under the flag of the Marshall Islands, is transporting Iraqi oil to European markets. Experts consider the movement notable amid rising tensions in the region involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
It was also reported that another tanker carrying Iraqi oil is currently located near the coast of Madagascar.
The cargo was loaded earlier in the southern Iraqi port city of Basra, and has recently drawn attention due to increasing security risks affecting international energy shipping routes.
