On the occasion of 1 June – International Childrens Day, an excursion to ASCOs “Surakhani” ship-museum was organized for the children of martyrs and veterans.
According to sea-news.az the event, held on the initiative of the Public Union “Veterans, Families of Martyrs and Veterans of Special Purpose Forces” and with the support of ASCO, aimed to provide the children with a memorable experience and introduce them closely to Azerbaijan’s maritime history.
During the excursion, participants explored the exhibition halls of the world’s first tanker-museum, experienced modern multimedia installations, and viewed exhibits reflecting the history of Azerbaijani shipping. The children were given detailed information about the country’s rich maritime traditions, the historical role of the Caspian Sea, and the activities of Azerbaijani seafarers.
After the excursion, a tea gathering was organized for the children at the museum’s restaurant. Vatan War Hero Zaur Huseynov, who attended the event, had a sincere conversation with the children of martyrs and veterans. He spoke about the historic victory achieved under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, during the Patriotic War, and about the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the homeland.
At the end of the meeting, the children were presented with special commemorative gifts on behalf of seafarers.
