The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that strikes were carried out against radar installations in Iran’s southern Goruk district and Qeshm Island, as well as drone command-and-control facilities.

According to a statement published by CENTCOM on X, the operation was conducted over the weekend. The command stated that the strikes were launched in response to Iranian actions, including the reported downing of a U.S. MQ-1 unmanned aerial vehicle over international waters.

CENTCOM emphasized that the operation was defensive in nature, adding that the strikes destroyed air defense systems, a ground control station, and, according to U.S. assessments, two attack drones that posed a threat to maritime security in the region.

The command also reported that no U.S. military personnel were injured during the operation.
