An Azerbaijani tanker, “Kahraman Khalilbeyli,” is set to play a crucial role in the transportation of oil from Turkmenistan, according to Mehman Mehdiyev, the head of the press service of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC (ASCO).

In an interview with the online portal Caliber.az, Mehdiyev revealed that the tanker recently underwent a significant overhaul at the Zygh Ship Repair and Construction Yard, with its inaugural journey to the Turkmenbashi International Seaport scheduled in the near future.

Mehdiyev noted that the comprehensive overhaul included cleaning and painting the underwater and surface parts of the tanker, as well as replacing mechanisms in the engine room, main engine, boiler rooms, and auxiliary engines. The refurbishment also encompassed hull welding, electrical installations, and repairs to the crew cabins. The vessel now boasts upgraded communication and navigation systems, reflecting modern advancements.

The Turkmenbashi International Seaport stands as the largest transit hub in the region, linking Central Asia and Europe through sea, road, and rail connections. Equipped with robust loading and unloading terminals, the port ensures the provision of high-quality services for cargo loading, unloading, and storage, solidifying its status as a pivotal gateway in facilitating regional transportation.
