The State Service for Control over Small Vessels and Rescue in Waters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) hosted a series of educational outreach events aimed at raising safety compliance among small vessel operators.

Sea-news.az reports that the latest training sessions, themed “Safe Operation of Small Vessels,” took place in the Haji Zeynalabdin settlement of Sumgayit, along the Shamkir Reservoir shoreline in the Shamkir region, in the villages of Hajigaragashli (Shabran region) and Mikayilli (Neftchala region), and in the Baligchilar settlement of the Lankaran region.

During the sessions, small vessel operators—including commercial fishing entities harvesting fish and other aquatic bioresources—were briefed on mandatory vessel equipment requirements. Officials outlined technical control standards, emphasizing the necessity of conducting statutory technical inspections and obtaining proper vessel operator licensing. Furthermore, operators received instruction on the correct usage of personal and collective lifesaving appliances, as well as onboard navigation equipment.

At the conclusion of the events, informative brochures detailing small vessel equipment standards and safe operational guidelines were distributed to participants.
