During negotiations, Iran reached an agreement to reduce the implementation timeframe for the plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to two days.

Sea-news.az reports that this was announced by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in an interview with Qatar’s Al Jazeera television network.

“We have currently reached an agreement on a proposal that reduces the execution period to two days,” the minister stated.

According to Araghchi, Iran is setting conditions requiring the recognition of a new maritime shipping lane designated in coordination with Oman, alongside the closure of all other corridors in the strait.

The minister emphasized that reopening the Strait of Hormuz under Iran’s proposed terms would lay the groundwork for resuming talks with Washington on outstanding unresolved issues.
