Amid escalating mutual threats and warnings between Iran and the United States, new maritime incidents have been recorded in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

Sea-news.az reports citing foreign media, that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated in a announcement released today that four vessels were struck simultaneously in the northern Persian Gulf, resulting in onboard fires.

According to the IRGC’s claims, the vessels were navigating an illegal route and were detected while transferring oil from one ship to another in the northern section of the gulf.

Additionally, the Iranian military announced that three vessels struck sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz last night. The Iranian side accused the United States of facilitating the passage of ships through the mined waterway, thereby increasing the number of maritime incidents.
