World Food Day, established on October 16, 1945, to mark the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is celebrated this year under the theme “Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow”. The theme highlights the essential role of combining science, technology, digital innovation, and local knowledge to eradicate global hunger and reshape agrifood systems.

Sea-news.az reports that the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AQTA) stated that ensuring the supply of safe, high-quality food to the population remains a core pillar of state policy. The State Program for 2019–2025 has been successfully completed with an execution rate of 92 percent. Under the upcoming State Program for 2027–2032, key priorities will include implementing the “One Health” framework, developing early warning and digital traceability systems, integrating AI models for data analysis in food safety systems, and expanding the application of HACCP standards across production and processing facilities.
