The detention of 9 suspects arrested in connection with the passenger ferry sinking off the coast of Girne, Northern Cyprus, has been extended for another week.
Sea-news.az reports citing Turkish media, the next court hearing is scheduled for October 23.
The high-speed passenger ferry “Filo Jet,” which operated between Girne and the Tasucu port in Türkiye’s Mersin province, sank shortly after departure on August 30. Azerbaijani citizens were among those on board. As part of the ongoing criminal investigation, 9 individuals have been detained, including 3 Azerbaijani citizens.
