The US military has struck a cargo vessel in the Gulf of Oman that allegedly attempted to breach the naval blockade against Iran.

Sea-news.az reports the statement was released by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM).

CENTCOM reported that a US fighter aircraft hit the stern of the Panama-flagged cargo ship “M/V Ocean Molica” (also known as “Arika Sun”) with precision-guided munitions, disabling its propulsion system. The large cargo vessel, which departed from an Iranian port, was attempting to transit regional waters. No crew casualties were reported.

According to the command, since the re-imposition of the blockade against Iran in mid-July, US forces have disabled 4 commercial vessels and redirected 135 others.
