According to data released by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), 11 commercial vessels have been targeted in and around the Strait of Hormuz since the beginning of October.

Sea-news.az reports the attacks, occurring on an almost daily basis, have predominantly targeted crude oil tankers. Information from the U.S. Naval Institute indicates that strikes were carried out by both Iran and the United States. According to the Pentagon, U.S. Naval forces have been targeting vessels allegedly violating the naval blockade or providing military assistance to Iran.

Data from “Lloyd’s List Intelligence” reveals that despite the surge in maritime strikes, transit frequency continues to rise, with Middle Eastern crude oil exports approaching pre-war volumes.

A total of 143 ship transits were recorded between September 28 and last Wednesday (an increase of three transits compared to the previous week).

Eastbound maritime transits increased by 7.1%, whereas westbound movements contracted by 4.2%.
