Shock to Irans Oil Market: No Tankers Loaded with Crude in September

In September 2026, not a single Iranian tanker was loaded with crude oil, marking the first such occurrence since the outbreak of the conflict between Tehran and Washington.

Sea-news.az citing Bloomberg, reports that according to initial tracking data from the news agency alongside analytical services Kpler and Vortexa, crude loading onto Iranian tankers dropped to zero in September from approximately 250,000 barrels per day in August.

According to Bloomberg, talks between the United States and Iran regarding the cessation of the conflict that began on February 28 remain prolonged, driven in part by disputes over control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier this week, the agency reported that Iranian officials held a pessimistic view regarding the prospects of reaching an agreement between Tehran and Washington prior to the US midterm elections scheduled for November.
