Kazakhstan and Austria are interested in increasing the volume of freight transportation via railway and the Caspian Sea.

Sea-news.az reports citing the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, that the parties intend to strengthen cooperation toward expanding the capabilities of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), developing logistics infrastructure, and enhancing transportation efficiency.

These issues were discussed during a meeting between Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Aidar Abildabekov and an Austrian delegation led by Markus Hofer, Chairman of the Kazakhstan-Austria Interparliamentary Friendship Group.

Additionally, Kazakhstan is considering opportunities to increase exports of processed products to Austria valued at 637.5 million US dollars.
