During military exercises in the Caspian Sea, servicemen were not provided with life jackets intended for use at sea.
Sea-news.az reports citing TASS, that President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated this during a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.
“The President noted that during the exercises, servicemen were not provided with the necessary equipment, including life jackets for marine use,” the press service of the head of state reported.
According to Tokayev, the death of servicemen in peacetime was the result of the incompetence of officers, including generals, and this matter is fundamentally criminal in nature.
