US military personnel have helped tankers transport approximately 1 billion barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz over the past few months.
Sea-news.az reports that this was stated by Admiral Brad Cooper, head of the United States Central Command, in a video message published by Central Command on the “X” social network.
“Over the past few months, 1 billion barrels of oil have been transported from the Strait of Hormuz. We achieved this by supporting more than 2,000 commercial vessels passing through the strait,” he stated.
Cooper added that the US is working with regional partners to strengthen their air defense capabilities and establish a new coalition strike drone group.
It should be noted that in mid-August, Central Command announced the creation of the multinational strike UAV grouping, Task Force Falcon Strike, for the first time in its history.
It was reported that the new unit will use single-use strike unmanned systems operating in the air, on the water surface, and underwater. Alongside US military personnel, representatives of US partner countries in the Middle East will also be included in its composition.
