Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, is set to host the 4th International Maritime Forum from November 23 to 25.

Sea-news.az reports citing the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, that the high-profile event is organized by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and will take place under the patronage of Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Centered around the theme “The Future of Seabed and Supply Chain Security in a Changing Global Environment,” the forum will bring together naval commanders, key policymakers, industry experts, and representatives from leading technology and manufacturing sectors. Delegations and international institutions from over 40 countries have already confirmed their participation.

The forum convenes amid a rapidly evolving maritime security landscape marked by mounting threats to critical deep-sea infrastructure, particularly submarine telecommunication cables and energy pipelines. These strategic assets form the vital backbone of the global digital economy and ensure the uninterrupted flow of international trade.

The impact of shifting global geopolitical and strategic environments on maritime supply chain security. Emerging vulnerabilities and protective measures for global energy transport corridors. Comprehensive strategies for seabed security and the safeguarding of critical underwater infrastructure. Contemporary security challenges facing commercial maritime navigation. Advanced technologies designed to enhance maritime system protection and operational efficiency, including the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in maritime security operations.

The overarching objective of the forum is to foster international collaboration and strategic dialogue on preserving maritime and underwater infrastructure integrity, strengthening supply chain resilience, and leveraging modern technologies to secure critical marine domains against future threats.
