Tropical Storm Saudel has struck the southeastern coast of China once again, with maximum wind speeds reaching 23 meters per second.
Sea-news.az reports that this information was released by the Xinhua News Agency.
The natural disaster made landfall in the Zhangzhou prefecture of China’s southeastern Fujian province. Along with strong winds, torrential rains are being observed in the region. Work, industrial production, and educational processes have been suspended in the Zhangpu, Zhaoan, and Dongshan counties.
It should be noted that Saudel had previously hit China’s Zhejiang province on August 28, at which time its maximum wind speed upon landfall was 35 meters per second. The typhoon subsequently moved westward across the mainland toward Hainan Island in the south, before turning eastward in the direction of Taiwan. Following this erratic path, the storm returned once more to the southeastern coast of China.
During the summer and early autumn months, precipitation in certain regions of China tends to be intense. Typhoons, floods, and landslides inflict serious material damage on the country and lead to human casualties.
