Hurricane Karina, tracking across the eastern Pacific Ocean, has rapidly intensified to Category 4 strength driven by warm ocean waters.
Sea-news.az reports that according to an official statement from the U.S. National Hurricane Center, high winds and massive ocean swells generated by the hurricane could trigger dangerous rip currents and severe maritime conditions along Mexico’s coastline, particularly in southwestern regions and toward the Baja California peninsula.
While experts emphasize that the center of the hurricane is moving over the open ocean well away from land and is not expected to make a direct landfall in the coming days, mariners and coastal communities have been urged to remain vigilant against severe wave hazards.
