Organized jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Water Sports Federation, the National Rowing and Canoeing Championship will take place from August 31 to September 2 at the “Kur” Olympic Rowing and Training Center in Mingachevir.
Sea-news.az reports that over 100 athletes from Baku and Mingachevir will compete in the tournament.
Athletes will compete in single and double sculls for rowing and kayaking, and single boats for canoeing. For the first time in the history of the national championship, a mixed doubles kayak competition will be introduced, marking a significant step forward for the sport. Sports officials note that the national championship serves as a key selection and preparatory phase for the upcoming traditional international tournament, the “Mingachevir Regatta-2026,” scheduled for September and October.
