A delegation consisting of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Yuriy Husev, and other official guests visited the “Surakhani” ship-museum belonging to the “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping” CJSC (ASCO).
Sea-news.az reports citing ASCO press service, that the visitors to the world’s first tanker-museum were introduced to the modern multimedia and audiovisual systems installed on the ship, as well as its rich exhibition halls.
The tour for the visitors was organized in Ukrainian. The guests were provided with extensive information about Azerbaijan’s rich maritime traditions, as well as the historical path and modern activities of ASCO, the oldest shipping institution in the Caspian basin.
Viktor Yushchenko inscribed his memorial notes in the museum’s “Guest Book of Honor,” expressing deep satisfaction with the tour.
The former Ukrainian head of state highly praised the work being done to preserve Azerbaijan’s maritime heritage, pass it on to future generations using modern technologies, and promote it internationally.
