Reconstruction and modernization works of lifting and drawing bridges have been successfully completed at Kazakhstan’s Kuryk port located on the Caspian coast.
Sea-news.az reports that as a result of the commissioning of new equipment, the process of loading railway trains and vehicles onto ferries has significantly accelerated. Thus, the time for placing railcars on the ferry decreased from 18 hours to 12 hours, and the vehicle loading time dropped from 10 hours to 6 hours.
Furthermore, thanks to the upgraded infrastructure, the number of railcars accommodated on a single ferry has been increased from 40 to 48.
It should be noted that these technical innovations at the Kuryk port, which directs transit cargo coming from China to Europe via Azerbaijan, create conditions for increasing the volume of cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) and achieving significant time savings.
