A ship with Azerbaijani sailors onboard was subjected to a drone attack in Ukraine today.
Sea-news.az reports that information about this was provided by Ilham Nasirov, chairman of the “Support to Azerbaijani Seafarers” Public Union.
It was noted that three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) struck the dry cargo ship “ATA-2,” belonging to the “Albatros Corporation,” near the port of Odessa, causing serious damage to the vessel. Currently, the ship is reported to be approaching Romania’s port of Sulina.
According to the information obtained, there was a 13-member crew on board the vessel. One of them is a citizen of Turkey, and 12 are citizens of Azerbaijan.
According to preliminary data, no deaths or injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
An inquiry has been sent to the relevant authority regarding the matter.
