The daily volume of crude oil transported to global markets through the Strait of Hormuz has again exceeded the 10 million barrel mark.
According to sea-news.az this was reported by Bloomberg agency, citing a high-ranking U.S. administration official.
Key indicators regarding the logistical situation in the region are as follows:
Additional Supply: Currently, an additional 5 million barrels of oil are supplied to global markets daily via alternative pipelines and land routes that bypass the Strait of Hormuz.
Historical Context: The agency’s analysis notes that before the military operations by the U.S. and Israel against Iran began, approximately 20 million barrels per day (about 20% of global oil consumption) were transported through this strategic maritime artery. The current figures indicate that vessel traffic in the strait has decreased by half compared to previous peak periods.
The report also emphasizes that Ali Bahreini, Iran’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, recently officially confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz is open for the safe passage of commercial vessels and for the restoration of international shipping.
